Pitch

Now it's time to sell your program to upper management. You'll need to create a presentation that's persuasive and gets them on your side, a.k.a. a pitch.

This is the best way to communicate your program's goals, timeline, and budget to your stakeholders.

Take everything you did in the Assess and Plan phase and consolidate it into one shiny slide deck. As the program manager, you're responsible for not only putting the deck together, but also presenting it to all the teams involved.

Below, you'll see a list of questions that every pitch needs to answer. If you can answer all of them, you'll be well on your way to getting buy-in from your stakeholders.

🥅 What are the program's objectives and goals?

Luckily, you already have these. Re-use your goals from Plan.

🛑 What risks or challenges have been considered, and how will they be managed?

These don't always get brought up in presentation, but someone will ask, so it's good to have them in your back pocket!

Build out the deck

Now is the time to put all of your answers in the exercise above into a presentation format. This should be in the form of a standard presentation slide deck. Your company probably already has a template you can use!

Your deck should follow a similar order: 1) overview, goals and impact 2) metrics, budget and timeline, then 3) stakeholder roles and cross-functional collaboration.

Use the above exercise to help build out your talking points and it'll all fall into place!
